Please join the Nelson & District Arts Council as we prepare for another year of promoting the continual development of arts and cultural opportunities, projects and activities in our community, and listen to keynote speeches by Mike Stolte and Anna Planedin from theCentre for Innovative and Entrepreneurial Leadership.

The first annual “Bard in the Bush Shakespeare Festival” - “Shakespeare Shorts V” and “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”!
“Shakespeare Shorts V” kicks off the “Bard in the Bush Shakespeare Festival” - Wednesday to Saturday, July 8-11th & 15-18th, 2009, at 7:30pm, in Nelson’s picturesque Gyro Park. ‘Ye Olde Stone Quarry’ in Nelson’s Gyro Park is the perfect venue for “Shakespeare Shorts V”. From downtown, enter ‘Ye Olde Stone Quarry’ via the trail at the upper end of Vernon St., or park above by the pool area, pass the playground, and follow the footpath and stone stairs down. Admittance to the show is a suggested donation of $10. Recommended for ages 12+. BYOC means bring your own chair, (though some are available if need be).
