Rhythmic Gymnastics is a beautiful and artistic sport that combines dance like moves with a hand apparatus such as a ribbon, ball, hoop, rope or scarf. Come out to dance, create and join the fun!

Beginner Hatha Yoga classes inspired by the Iyengar method which emphasizes proper body mechanics by adapting postures to individual needs.

You will learn:
-to focus the mind through natural breath awareness techniques
-to observe your own body alignment
-basic poses in each category of asanas
-to use props safely and efficiently
-to cultivate loving-kindness for self and others

Learning how to move every part of your body takes time but every class has been designed by Jen Mendizabal to learn step by step how to follow the music.

Catherine teaches piano, accordion and mandolin to all ages. She offers beginner and intermediate lessons in classical, traditional jazz, blues, and various folk traditions (Celtic, Cajun, bluegrass, and Eastern European). She adjusts her teaching techniques in accordance with students’ unique learning styles, (eg, some students will learn to read notation, others tablature, others will play strictly by ear). Catherine loves demystifying music for students by teaching them the basics of theory and the tricks they need to know to create their own songs and accompany themselves without sheet music.

The fall semester starts the week of September 13. Lessons are $22 for a half hour.
