Day Trip - Christina Lake
Christina Lake is 114 Km west from Nelson on Hwy 3. By car, it is a stunning hour and a half drive through the Selkirk and Monashee mountain ranges. Alternately you can travel West from Castlegar to Christina Lake on the Columbia and Western Rail Trail which can be hiked, biked, skied and traversed by snowshoe. This is an incredible one or two day journey through the sometime steep and always beautiful valley along the Kettle River.
When you arrive in Christina Lake there are an abundance of recreational activities to partake in. Try hiking one of the many wilderness trails that surround Christina Lake or visit Christina Lake Provincial Park for a day of exploring nature, swimming, kayaking or simply sitting along the shores of the lake.
In the winter Christina Lake is a place of quiet beauty with extensive cross country ski trails, wilderness adventure tours, Bed and Breakfast packages and the annual Winter Fest.
Christina Lake is a four seasons vacation destination that has remained largely undeveloped and uniquely special. Take a day to visit Christina Lake and enjoy another beautiful Kootenay Community.
