For the last four years, Mountain FM's news team has been led by Glenn Hicks, a veteran BBC radio and television presenter, and former national TV news anchor in South Africa. Sports director Shawn Mullin is the play-by-play voice of the Trail Smoke Eaters and host of Overtime, our nightly sports talk show. Senior reporter Greg Nesteroff is a native Kootenaian and the area's longest serving radio journalist. Junior reporter Jeff Sargeant is well connected in both local news and sports, having filled in on Overtime and called play-by-play for the Beaver Valley Nitehawks. Kootenay Carnival magazine exists to be an honest exhibition of the arts across the Kootenay region. Besides featuring recognized performers, writers and visual artists, this magazine will strive to uncover talent yet to be seen by a wide audience and offer its readers a change of viewpoint and possibly a new way of seeing the region's arts and artists. The magazine's listing pages are included to provide at-a-glance information to those endeavouring to attend concerts, festivals, gallery showings, theatre and live entertainment at all venues throughout the East and West Kootenay region.
