Who is Pegg Davidson?
Pegg has worked as a facilitator, educator and administrator with a range of stakeholders and diverse client groups. She has provided in-service and professional development to individuals, staffs and large groups for more than twenty years. She is a teacher and holds a Masters Degree in Special Education. The subjects of inclusion, col-laboration, parent advocacy and communication have been a professional focus for many years, and were integral to Pegg’s role as District Principal for Student Services in School District No. 6. She has taught at the university level and spent 27 years working in the field of Her experience includes assisting organizations, school staff and administrators to restructure their method of service delivery, training
staff and parents to support students with specific mental and physical challenges, building communication skills among various stakeholder groups with the goal of creating more constructive relationships, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams to support children with co-morbid complex conditions, and being a founding member of the East Kootenay Childhood Coalition and the Kimberley North Star Dream Team (Early Childhood Team). Over the past year, Pegg co-authored the document Supporting Meaningful Consultation with Parents for the British Columbia Ministry of Education, and directed a research project for the British Columbia Council of Administrators of Special Education on functional curriculum for high school students.
Who should Attend?
This is a session that will empower parents and give service providers insight into how the system of services appears to the parent and how best to optimize the opportunities for the child. Educators and teacher assistants would benefit from understanding the intricacies ofthe systems parents can face as they look for support for a special needs child.
If your life at home or at work revolves around children, this is a great session to “Connect the Dots.”
