Creativity! Inspiration! New Ideas! Voice! Join Oxygen Art Centre’s talented instructors for fresh new courses in writing, singing, acting, painting, drawing, and photography.
Starting the week of February 15, Bessie Wapp offers her Singing the Blues class, in which students explore the rich swamp of the human voice in a relaxed and supportive environment, and get down with a live band on the last day.
Bessie also leads Acting Schmacting, a fun escapade onto the stage with theatre games, scripts, and movement. Ever wanted to play a role? Be someone else?
Natasha Smith offers Pushing the Borders of Drawing, in which she combines traditional drawing materials and techniques with the process of collage. Recycle unresolved works, play with texture and dimension, create dynamic compositions.
Natasha also teaches Seeing Red, a rich exploration of colour through exercises in hue, value, intensity, and temperature. Learn how to seduce with colour.
Photographing People is Fred Rosenberg’s métier. Investigate and overcome the challenges of capturing candid moments, through shooting assignments, discussion, and critiques.
Susan Andrews-Grace invites students to explore Poetry: Working in a Series. Whether achieved by digression. Accretion, or constellation, the long poem, series, or sequence is a way toward a book of poetry that is an organic whole.
Critiquing Your Work: Fiction and Creative Non-Fiction with Rita Moir is a series of six consecutive critiquing sessions. Get immersed in scene setting, character, and dialogue.
