SALMO, BC -       Monte Comeau of Kootenay Photography Services is pleased to announce his school photography service in the Kootenay Boundary region.   A field of photography that has traditionally been the domain of large photography corporation’s from Kelowna and Vancouver, Kootenay Photography Services is now offering schools and sports leagues a local alternative.

In his research for his business Comeau has discovered that 100% of schools in the region have been going out of the area for decades to hire photography companies for their annual school portraits, potentially sending millions of dollars in revenue out of the area.  With local taxes going into our school system Comeau feels that at the very least they should be hiring local businesses whenever possible.   As we all know, local business contributes to the local economy and in these trying economic times this can only be a benefit to the region.   Although Kootenay Photography Services is slowly penetrating the local school and sports market a vast majority of the school and sports league administrators are still going out of the region to hire.    Comeau explains;

“I offer comparable service to the large companies and often times surpass what they provide, it is frustrating when they still choose to use out of area companies to do the work Kootenay Photography Services is more than capable of.  It is time to break that tradition.”

Monte Comeau, owner of the business and lifetime Kootenay resident saw a need for a local photography to become involved in the schools as he seen first hand the many challenges with his own children’s annual school portraits with poor customer service and quality issues.    Having successfully addressed both these issues Kootenay Photography Services now needs more school administrators to get on board with hiring local and help make the business a success.
