MAY 07 005.jpgThe West Kootenay Walk for ALS takes place on June 1st, 2008 at Lakeside Rotary Park. Registration starts at 11:30am and the Walk gets going at 1:00pm. There are 2 distances: 3km or 6km walks following the waterfront pathway. Last year’s event raised over $50,000! 60% of the funds raised stay in BC and go to patient services which helps to supply much needed equipment such as wheelchairs, hospital beds, and walkers. The remaining 40% goes to ALS Canada and is used for research in helping to find a cause and a cure for this terrible disease.
