Venus is the ruling planet for Taurus. A bright evening and morning ‘star’, Venus is a jewel to behold. Mythologically, she is associated to Aphrodite – the beautiful and sensual Goddess of Love. Interestingly, the axial rotation of Venus is very slow, 243 days compared to the actual orbit of Venus around the Sun which is 224 days! Venus is also very hot; in fact 448 C, which is enough to melt lead. In addition, her atmospheric pressure is 92 times that of Earth which is equivalent to that of 3000 ft. below the ocean surface. Slow, hot, intense and passionate, these are apt characteristics for the Goddess of love. In a birth chart Venus denotes what we desire, want and value most. Since our thoughts are guided by feelings and vice versa, Venus and Mercury share a close relationship. The next closest planet to Venus, aside from Earth and our Moon, is Mars. Venus and Mars are the archetypal lovers. There is more to the notion that Men are from Mars and Women from Venus than John Grey’s books – a wise business move. Such generic information is useful yet your own birth chart will tell the real story. With Earth and Moon in between, our planet represents the place where the fruits of this union come into manifestation. The Moon is indicative of instincts, in this case to procreate, and of the mood and timing for love and is closely associated to mother and woman’s monthly cycle as well. This week, Venus and Mars are now in a close, yet potentially challenging alignment. Extra efforts will likely have to be made for fulfillment in close relationships. This stands to be especially true in love relationships. Moodiness, selfishness and impatience are the culprits to overcome. Sincere efforts to dig to deeper levels of intimacy, perhaps by clearing away stagnant and blocked energies of any kind, will meet with success. At best this energy pattern will spark passions, in-tune with the fertile spring season.

Aries (Mar 21 – Apr 20)
The business of establishing a more solid home base and momentum continues. Changes and opportunities in your career and social life are guiding you to new considerations. You feel more independent, yet are also eager to learn new skills and experience new angles and modes of expression altogether. Generally, your focus is strong these days. Yet, you still may be uncertain about what you want exactly. Continue to create a reliable base. Clearing the old to make way for the new is implied. Secure your ground and take calculated risks.

Taurus (Apr 20 – May 21)
Attending to business on a variety of fronts is a call to concentrate your focus. You may be actively engaged in more than one project. Repairs and creative design both may require the learning of new skills. Some things cannot be learned quickly, so practice patience and acknowledge you progress. One way or another, you are seeing things more philosophically these days. The whole world is changing and you know it and may not like it, but are determined to be prepared for it anyway. Avoid dreaming about living and live your dreams.

Gemini (May 21 – Jun 21)
You may be happy to be behind the scenes and close to home more than usual these days. Mid spring is a good time to establish a reliable and practical momentum that you can ride for the next several months. However, your ambitions may be higher than your energy levels. Your will be back in full form in a few weeks so aim for slow but sure progress for now and possibly for completing unfinished business. Take the time to plan your dreams, and perhaps dream-up plans as well. Entertain new angles; take an inventive approach. Spontaneity contains its own wisdom and genius as well. Prepare the ground for actual seeds and for intentions of action.

Cancer (Jun 22 – Jul 22)
Coming up with creative solutions is keeping you busy. Innovation and imagination to earn returns in new ways is a good sign, yet may be posing some challenges now as well. Combine practicality with a willingness to learn new skills. Avoid giving in to the aggressive demands of others unless the deal is worthwhile. Opportunity is in the air for you, yet comes with the mixed blessing of the need for new training and education. Flow with the changes, yet do not over-commit yourself. Carefully determine how much you are able and willing to give to emerging interests. Learn to delegate and share the labour for bigger profits.

Leo (Jul 23 – Aug 23)
The time has come to focus more intently on your career. You are eager to cover a lot of ground. Your mind focus is pragmatic and determined. Mixing cultural pleasures with business is quite possible. Enjoy the talents of others to gain inspiration to cultivate your own expressions. Intend to face and overcome fears and clear away emotional blocks. Aim to heal perceptual blind spots for more professional success. Virgo (Aug 24 – Sep 22)
The quest for a more realistic philosophy is on. Be willing to clear away those attitudes and evaluations that no longer serve your best interests. Focus to determine what these are. Learning to bear witness to your mind process is a classic spiritual approach. Eckart Tolle’s “A New Earth” could prove helpful. Look to the bigger picture and consider the impact your current perspectives have upon your important relationships. Professional relationships and status is a likely area of focus. Perhaps it is time to begin to consider new fields and pastures to plant your seeds or to add to your lot.

Libra (Sep 23 – Oct 22)
Your desires are deepening. To gain satisfaction, however, you are challenged to get out of your own way. What habits in attitude and behaviour stand in the way of love and/or fulfillment, or other areas? At best, this implies merging your passions with those of others. You are ready to dive deep to investigate all the possibilities. How can you take an active lead then yield to the flow, for success? Be willing to take the initiative and be positively responsive if others take the lead. Of course, you may prefer to shop than buy. Take your time to further investigate the quality of the goods and services being offered.

Scorpio (Oct 23 – Nov 21)
Focusing to establish more reliable relationship patterns is in focus. Other key players are pushing you to persevere to break free of ruts and bad habits. Give to the situation by being willing to see and feel as they do. Aim for the middle path on all fronts and distribute your energies equally. Be careful not to let undue ambition lead you to push too hard. This could prove to be a turn off to others, and could otherwise cause the wall to come crashing down. Variety is the spice for you these days and the more you can get, the happier you will be. Avoid spreading yourself too thin, however. Celebrate positive returns!

Sagittarius (Nov 22 – Dec 21)
Aiming for a more practical pace in your daily routine is in focus. You have been digging deep somehow and this will continue for a few weeks yet. Hopefully you have unearthed some usable goods. If not, you will probably lose interest and move to greener pastures. Seek inspiration yet rely upon discipline. All being well, you are at a high point, especially in social and professional spheres, yet the wind may be blowing hard and cold as well. Bask in your success as you can and prepare for the descent in early May. Remain sure-footed and practical as you go now, and take a constructively critical approach to improve your performance, as necessary.

Capricorn (Dec 22 – Jan 19)
Laying a more practical foundation for your creative interests is the call now. Your entire mode of expression in the world is undergoing change. Fortunately, there is reason to believe that this change is working for you. The more you are open to new perspectives and approaches, the better. On the other hand, you could be having a hard time as you teeter on the edge of major change. How you present yourself to the world is changing. With focus, luck and destiny to support you, new levels of power may be yours to enjoy. Don’t look back now, aim for more interesting, stable and fertile ground to build your empire.

Aquarius (Jan 20 – Feb 19)
Securing your nest implies imaginative vision. For ultimate success, you have to be willing to undergo deep changes in your overall approach now. There is no going back to what once was not so long ago. If you want to realize true success you must persevere in the new directions that are naturally unfolding. These may seem complex and challenging. If you feel like you are suffering, it may be your own fixed attitudes and lack of acceptance of what ‘is’ that is at cause.
