Week of September 05

Horoscope for the week of September 5, 2008
Tip of the Week:
The big bright star in the sky to the south is Jupiter in the constellation of Sagittarius and the sign of Capricorn. Yes, this discrepancy can be made. To assume that Astrology is purely based on the exact position of the constellations is just that, assumption. Looking to both the constellation and the sign may seem strange but it is as simple as understanding that the ‘sign’ is based on the season and the constellation is more variable in this regard. Of course, given the unseasonably cool temperatures, we might wonder if the seasons are changing. The late winter earlier this year squeezes that argument out. Some years are cooler than others, some hotter, some wetter some dryer. Such is the nature of things, at least up here at these latitudes. Anyway, it so happens that Mercury, Venus and Mars are closely aligned right now in the constellation of Virgo and the sign of Libra. To see them you will have to be looking due west just after sunset and have a fairly flat, clear view and the spectacle will only last about an hour or so. Venus is quite bright, almost as bright as Jupiter, Mercury will appear pale yellow and Mars will show a tint or orange. Star gazing is not necessary when it comes to Astrology as the planets are plotted and charted with symbolic glyphs to represent the Sun, Moon and planets. However, the astronomical side of Astrology is very interesting indeed. It begins with the astronomy of the solar system itself which offers many wonderful graphed images. A close study of the proximity, characteristics and other phenomenal behaviour of the planets lends many insights into an ever deepening understanding and evolution of Astrology. Yes, many new insights are gleaned yearly and these can then be applied in a variety of ways, among them psychological. That the facts related to the planets give clues about human nature and psychology may seem a little far out but is what the ancients clearly understood and what Astrology continues to demonstrate everyday all over the world.
Aries (Mar 21 – Apr 20)
Inspiring insights and colourful exchanges coming from others are making you think. Precision and perhaps artistic beauty is requested. You want to charge forward but must adapt to larger currents which are moving more slowly than you might like. This will change but it may take until mid October. Pace yourself and be willing to learn and share, in the flow. Meanwhile, new romantic interests are gaining your attention. Admirers are open about how they feel. It may take a couple of weeks but you will be eager to engage then. You may feel lazy this week but it won’t last so indulge.
Taurus (Apr 20 – May 21)
Health, beauty and feelings of freedom and confidence often go hand in hand. How secure are you really? Does life offer guarantees? No, but you can be the best you can be by way of healthy conscious choices. To be more conscious it is good to decipher how or in what way you are not as conscious or on auto pilot. Sometime hard questions, like hard work, can bring the greatest rewards. You want to play more and colour your world somehow. Clean and clear continues to be a central theme. Empty spaces and walls will want to be filled again with fresh energy. Body cleanses are possible. Treat yourself to a spa day.
Gemini (May 21 – Jun 21)
What do you have, want and need? What must be cleared to make way for the new? These and other such creative questions could bring good answers. Once you get some answers, record them and follow through without too much further thought. Get inspired about the possibilities. Take it slow at first to build momentum then stride forth. Expect 4-6 weeks to set a steady pace with new creative projects. This is a good window of time to get a lot done. You will also want to leave some room for fun and pleasure. Manage your time so you can have it all.
Cancer (Jun 22 – Jul 22)
Many thoughts and details to attend to and errands to run and engaging exchanges all make for a full and colourful plate these days. You are being presented with a variety of options. Some are perhaps unorthodox while others will prove deeply engaging. Both may require training and education. Dig deep to decipher your priorities. Some big changes are brewing and how you meet them is important. Look to the big picture over the long term. Don’t just settle, invest! This could come in the way of higher education or hands on training. Travel for work could be the ticket.
Leo (Jul 23 – Aug 23)
Opportunities often come in windows of time and circumstance. Making the best of them is part of the art of life. You have reasons to feel inspired and ambitious, yet you have a variety of fronts requiring your time and attention. Decipher what are long-term projects and what are short so you can manage your time effectively. Give some attention to each direction and set them all into motion. Sometimes it best to do one thing at a time while at others a convergence of activities can prove productive. With plenty of places to go and people to see you have reason to feel excited.
Virgo (Aug 24 – Sep 22)
What do you know and, of equal importance, who? Skill and knowledge is valuable and so are connections with influence. Building a more solid network is ideal now. The secret is to do as much as you can so other key players have little to do yet provide maximum leverage and support. This is both respectful and respected, setting a good record for future interests as well. Take an active lead and demonstrate you ability to be disciplined. Avoid quick fixes and schemes and settle in for a longer time period of sustained focus and follow through.
Libra (Sep 23 – Oct 22)
A meditative and contemplative time mixed with a strong creative focus continues. Sometimes it is best to step back to digest experiences and choices from the recent past. Balancing this with ambitions to forge ahead can be tricky, even confusing. Entertain inspiring possibilities by sampling and intuitively weighing their value now, before you commit. Most successful projects require a good deal of preparation and ground work. Know what you want as an outcome and then let a fine blend of intuition, instinct and logic guide you from that point back to now. Knowing what, how, who and when are keys to graceful fulfillment.
Scorpio (Oct 23 – Nov 21)
Sometimes you have to know ‘when to hold them, when to fold them and when to walk away and when to run’. No one else can make this choice for you. You may feel the urge to run, yet feel afraid of what might happen if you do. Clarify your priorities about the short and the long term and then enquire about the same with significant others, then decide. This full spectrum decision making process will help you to make the best choices. Look and ask both within and without. By asking our own heart and mind good questions, life delivers answers in synchronistic and symbolic ways. Ask and expect answers!
Sagittarius (Nov 22 – Dec 21)
Your mood is rather sober and serious. You may feel as though time is running out somehow. You feel rebellious yet you also want to keep an open mind and make a graceful entry, or exit. Sometimes it is best to talk while you walk, but be careful of big promises either coming from you or others. Be willing to strike deals yet beware not to compromise your authenticity. This is where creative negotiation enters the picture. The formula includes knowing your own priorities very well then empathetically and sincerely enquiring with significant others what their needs and wants are then finding the middle ground. Use this classic solution for conflict resolutions.
Capricorn (Dec 22 – Jan 19)
What do you know and what would you like to know? Who can teach you and who can you teach to learn and how? Wow, a lot of questions are running through your mind these days. Hopefully you are getting as many answers. Getting answers begins with asking and your willingness to hear the truth or at least gain clear facts will bring faster results. Honour people’s feelings while you get your answers. Sometimes the ambition to achieve something, even an answer, can prove abrasive to others. If you consider this their problem then you may need to take a closer look at the value of a good reputation. Employ full, round communication for personal and professional success.
Aquarius (Jan 20 – Feb 19)
Changes on both inner and outer levels are keeping you busy. You ambitions are steadily rising. You want to be creative yet need to be practical. Taking the time you need to strike this balance is important. Avoid procrastination and doubt, take action and you will know what to do next. Aim to do what you love and/or love what you do. Balance determination with gratitude to get your body in motion and your heart center activated. This is science not ethics because when the heart is active even mundane, menial or alternatively hard and challenging work can prove joyful.
Pisces (Feb 20 – Mar 20)
Sometimes we feel hotter than others, the weather aside. You feel a rising passion and determination to realize your dreams and desires. Honour your conscience now as it is guiding you to do what you ‘should’, in the larger plot of your life. This will require discipline so balance your energetic output to satisfy the full spectrum of your dreams and passions. Write a list of your goals you would like to achieve over the course of the next one, three and six months. Larger time frames are good as well yet this one will keep you grounded and here and now. Clear a creative space and let the games begin.
