Tip of the Week:The Sun enters Libra marking the Autumn Equinox at 8:45 a.m. PDT. On this day you can measure exact equal hours of daylight and darkness. This fact of light distribution is where the sign Libra truly gains its character. That the Moon is currently exactly a half waning or Last Quarter Moon, exact on September 21 at 10:04 p.m. PDT is noteworthy as this Moon phase is symbolically associated with Libra just at the seasonal round beginning with Winter Solstice is symbolically linked to the New Moon phase. The glyph that represents Libra is the weigh scales and symbolically represents the principle of balance, on one hand, and the actual reality of the vacillation of balance, on the other. It takes very little to shift the scales to one side or the other and thus activating a side to side swing. This is illustrative of the highly sensitive nature of those born with the Sun in the Sign of Libra. It also suggests a certain moodiness and rapid changeability. This ever shifting reality of in and out of balance is more than symbolic; it is archetypal as it represents the eternal constant of movement and change which can be further illustrated in cycles.
