Step into the ring at The Civic Gardens for the Dec 7 -13 main event

December 7 – 13
Ring Side at The Civic GardensIn the blue corner, weighing in at 32 ounces of popcorn, the heavyweight champion of the world, ‘Creed II’, competes for eyes on-screen for the main-run Fri – Sun and Tuesday.

In the red art-house corner, wearing parishioner crimson, the boy who will not be erased, 
‘Boy Erased’
, battles for a good house occupancy on Monday and Thursday, with the documentary, ‘Free Solo’, tagging in with a climbers focus and stamina to bring home the title on Monday and Wednesday.

Officiating this grudge match, is none other than North Pole’s own, Santa Clause. Santa will pull no punches at this Saturday’s main event, ‘Home For the Holidays’, sponsored by Hume Hotel, Play It Again Kids, Mountain Baby and Nelson Kids. The ring will never be the same when the double creature feature of little green men, ‘How The Grinch Who Stole Christmas’ and ‘Gremlins’, try to disrupt the holiday spirit.

Home For the Holidays Celebration of Family and Friends

It’s a holiday double creature feature of little green monsters disturbing the Christmas spirit, but fear not, love and family always prevails.  Come out to see the classic 1966, How The Grinch Stole Christmas, and Gremlins (’84). In between titles, you can expect a visit from the big man in red, to compliment all that green and complete the holiday colour palate.

*NOTE – for families with very young children: there is a .5hr break after the first movie, prizes and Santa visit before ‘Gremlins’ (suggested age rating of 10+) screens, for anyone who wishes to leave at that point.

This is a FREE family event.  Bring in a food or financial donation for The Nelson Community Food Centre (previously Nelson Food Cupboard) and get a free mini-popcorn to enjoy with the movie. Financial donations are appreciated, but here is a list of the most needed foods this holiday season:Granola and low sugar cereals, Nuts and dried fruit, Olive oil and cooking oils, Canned fish, Gluten free products, Bulk whole grains, Canned chickpeas and beans
