Nova Scotia is in mourning as the names of victims of a weekend mass killing begin to emerge. The victims include an RCMP officer, a teacher, two nurses, neighbours of the assailant and two correctional officers killed in their home. Investigators are continuing to piece together the mass killing, which saw a man who at one point donned a police uniform slay at least 18 people as he travelled across northern Nova Scotia over the weekend. Investigators have said the shooter, identified as 51-year-old Gabriel Wortman, was killed after police intercepted him at a gas station in Enfield, N.S. Chief Insp. Chris Leather said the killings appeared to be, “at least in part, very random in nature.” Police have so far only identified the RCMP officer killed in the attack, but family and friends are beginning to identify the rest of the victims on social media.
