Billy’s Auto Service is looking for a Tire & Lube Tech to join our team! This is a full-time position at our shop located in beautiful Salmo, BC.

As a Tire & Lube Technician, you will be responsible for performing essential vehicle maintenance services, including tire services and oil changes. This hands-on position plays a key role in ensuring vehicle safety and reliability while delivering high-quality service to our customers.

Roles and Responsibilities:
•  Perform oil changes, filter replacements, fluid top-offs, and basic maintenance services according to manufacturer specifications.
•  Conduct tire services, including mounting, balancing, repairing, rotating, and replacing tires.
•  Inspect vehicles for fluid leaks, worn tires, or other issues that require attention, and accurately document findings.
•  Use tools and equipment safely and effectively to complete assigned tasks.
•  Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
•  Communicate with supervisors or service advisors to provide updates on work progress and report any concerns.
•  Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
•  Ensure accurate time tracking by signing in and out with your Supervisor.
•  Assist in monitoring parts inventory and restocking supplies as needed.
•  Support other shop duties and assist with repairs or services as assigned.
•  Occasionally work on or travel to the nearby Shambhala festival site, as required.
•  Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
•  A valid driver’s license.
•  1–2 years of experience in tire and/or oil change services is preferred.
•  Possessing your own tools suitable for tire and lube work is an asset.
•  Ability to lift heavy tires and equipment and work in physically demanding environments.
•  Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
•  Basic understanding of vehicle systems and maintenance practices.
•  Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
•  Physically fit and capable of working in various weather and shop conditions.
•  Commitment to safety and proper handling of tools and materials.
•  Demonstrates a high degree of professionalism at all times when conducting operations and interacting with customers.
•  Takes direction well.
•  Capable of multitasking and prioritizing.
•  A committed individual and self-motivating.
•  Courteous, Competent and Persuasive with a proven ability to handle stressful situations.
•  Ability to foresee and troubleshoot potential issues, making recommendations to increase efficiency.
•  Flexible and able to respond to changes in working conditions.
•  Patience while performing repetitive tasks.
•  Ability to work in a culturally diverse workspace without personal judgments or bias.

Pay Rate: $20-22 per hour
