The Guest Services Attendant will provide exceptional guest services (front desk and housekeeping) in accordance with the hotel’s core values, mission, standards, and policies.
• This position will work between 30-35 hours per week starting ASAP until late August at our hotel located in Nelson, BC. Potential to extend beyond August may be considered for the right candidate.
• Please Note: This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program. Applicants must meet the program’s eligibility criteria (see below).
Responsibilities Include:
• Providing front desk services to guests, including check-ins and check-outs.
• Greeting guests upon arrival and making them feel welcome.
• Clean guest rooms to hotel standards for guest arrival
• Clean and maintain common areas of the hotel
• Perform laundry duties
• Stock and maintain housekeeping supply rooms
• Ensure a high level of customer service at all times
• Assist guests with requests and questions as necessary
• Report any damages or repairs needed to management
• Processing guest payments
• Being a source of information to guests
• Diffusing conflict or tense situations with guests
• Be well-versed in the different room types, rates and hotel amenities.
• Up-sell hotel services when appropriate
• Perform additional duties as needed to ensure optimum guest satisfaction.
Qualifications Include:
• High school diploma, A diploma or degree in hospitality management, or working towards a related credential
• 2+ years of customer service experience
• Certificate or diploma in hospitality is advantageous
• Prior experience in the hotel/tourism industry. Work experience as a Hotel Front Desk Agent, Receptionist, Housekeeper or similar role is preferred, as is experience with hotel reservations software.
• Computer skills, must learn WebRezPro for hotel reservations
• Exceptional interpersonal skills

As this position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program, applicants must:
• be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period*
• be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment** and
• have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
Pay Rate: $18.50 per hour
