| Greetings! This week we launched our annual Progress Report. The 2025 edition from Breast Cancer Canada paints a picture of progress, innovation, and the work that still lays ahead. Over the past year, we’ve seen important advances across the country: Faster Access to Treatments: Seven new therapies were approved in Canada. Programs like Ontario’s FAST track are helping patients access treatments quicker, a model BCC advocates to see nationwide. National Standards of Care: Through REAL Canadian Breast Cancer Alliance, expert clinicians are developing evidence-based recommendations, in efforts for patients to receive consistent, high-quality care, regardless of their postal code. Early Detection Innovation: From AI-supported blood tests to wearable devices, BCC is advancing research that could revolutionize screening and detection. Clinical Trials and Research Access: Only 55% of Canadians currently have access to advanced treatments through trials. We continue to fund and advocate for equitable participation nationwide. Patient-Centered Care: 72% of patients report feeling unprepared for recurrence risk. BCC is focused on policies and programs that surround the patient experience. As CEO Kimberly Carson notes, “By combining rigorous research, expert guidance, and patient voices, we are setting the standard for timely, equitable, and informed breast cancer care in Canada.” |

| Breast Cancer Canada is a national charity dedicated to saving lives through breast cancer research. With a focus on precision oncology (personalized care), it is the only national breast cancer organization in Canada that has a clear mandate to raise money for research and advocate and educate on the progress of new research evidence. The organization receives no government funding, meaning all research is funded through the generosity of donors. For more information visit, breastcancer.ca |
