• This full-time, temporary position will work at the festival site near Salmo, BC throughout the event.
• Position Dates: July 16-29, 2025 (Shifts are daily on the festival site throughout this period.)
The Production Dispatcher plays a critical role in ensuring smooth communication and coordination between all festival teams. Operating from the festival’s dispatch command center, this role is responsible for logging, prioritizing, and relaying work requests while maintaining clear and efficient radio communications. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates excellent organizational skills, and ensures that all radio requests are actioned promptly.
Responsibilities Include:
• Serve as the central communication hub for production teams.
• Accurately log incoming requests from various departments and track their completion.
• Remain available on the radio at all times while on shift, ensuring timely responses.
• Conduct regular radio checks to maintain communication and reinforce proper radio protocols.
• Enforce radio etiquette and troubleshoot communication issues as needed.
• Prioritize and dispatch tasks based on urgency and resource availability.
• Follow up on outstanding requests and provide timely status updates to requesting departments.
• Maintain clear and accurate records of all requests and dispatch actions.
• Collaborate with other dispatchers and festival departments to ensure seamless site operations.
• Monitor ongoing tasks and assist in troubleshooting logistical issues as they arise.
• Support emergency response coordination by relaying critical information efficiently.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Include:
• Experience using radios in a professional setting.
• Strong organizational and note-taking skills.
• Ability to work long shifts in outdoor festival environments.
• Experience working at festivals, live events, or large-scale productions.
• Knowledge of two-way radio operations and troubleshooting.
• Previous dispatch, coordination, or logistics experience.
• Communicates clearly and professionally over the radio.
• Able to quickly assess situations and prioritize tasks.
• Ensures requests are logged and tracked correctly.
• Stays calm and effective in high-intensity situations.
• Works well with various departments and adapts to evolving needs.
• Embodies and promotes the Shambhala spirit of love, magic, and community.
