Fuel Progress, Every Month. Research doesn’t happen overnight, it happens one study, one discovery, and one donor at a time. Monthly giving provides Breast Cancer Canada with the reliable funding needed to invest in research, education, and advocacy that improves outcomes for people affected by breast cancer across the country. When you give monthly, you’re standing with the over 30,000 Canadians who will be diagnosed this year, and helping build a future where care is more personalized and treatment is more effective.
Breast Cancer Canada is excited to be collaborating with Montreal singer-songwriter Karen Myatt on the production of a music video for her upcoming single When We Were Beautiful, to be released this summer. The video will feature women from across Canada who have experienced or are currently experiencing breast cancer. Through simple, authentic selfie style videos, we choose to honour the many emotions that come with a breast cancer diagnosis. If you or someone you know would like to participate, please contact: social@breastcancerprogress.ca by Friday, August 7th, 2026. To participate, please send the following:Your name, age, and location.Your breast cancer story (if you are comfortable sharing).
Your video can be as simple as a cell phone recording from the shoulders up. The concept is that you are looking at yourself in the mirror, so you can look directly into your camera. We will also share an embargoed copy of the song to play in the background while you film your video. There is no right or wrong way to respond. We invite you to simply listen and allow whatever emotions arise naturally. If it feels right, you can end your video with a smile. Videos can be as short or long as the full length of the song. Only brief portions of each submission will be used, with clips thoughtfully woven together to create the final video.
