Saturn enters Pisces on March 7, 2023. Pisces is the third ‘winter sign’. The first is Capricorn and the second winter sign is Aquarius. Saturn spends an average of 2.5 years in a sign. It was December 20, 2017, in sync with Winter Solstice, when Saturn entered its own ruling sign of Capricorn which also began its winter season phase. True to winter, things were getting colder with rapidly rising real estate prices increasing poverty levels, the opioid crisis, a growing divide in the U.S.A., Brexit, and so on… Saturn then entered Aquarius on March 22, 2020, in the early hours of Spring Equinox. We are once again under the waxing light of the New Moon early in the zodiacal sign month. This pattern can be traced back to Autumn Equinox 2022 when the New Moon occurred less than 3 days after the Sun entered Libra. As the rhythms of the cycles of destiny go, this pattern which continued ever since will ironically end with Aries, the polar opposite sign of Libra. This is due to the fact that the New Moon’s on March 21 and April 19 ‘both’ occur in Aries at the critical degrees of 0 and 29 Aries, to be exact. This is a foreshadow lending added complexity and intrigue to the much anticipated Pluto ingress into Aquarius on March 23^rd! Interestingly, Pisces time begins in the numerological 9-month and ends during the numerological 1-month, as it hands off to Aries. As the omega sign of the Zodiac, Pisces does share close association with the alpha sign Aries since where the two signs meet symbolically represents the ‘clasp on the chain’ of the entire Zodiac!

Pisces time begins as the Sun enters the sign of the fishes on February 18. Pisces is the 12th and last sign of the Zodiac. So, this begins the last month of the Zodiacal year. While the natural cycle of the years begins with Winter Solstice, it is symbolically associated with 12 midnight when the calendar day actually begins. In this regard, Pisces is associated with 4 am to 6 am. This time window has long been regarded as the best time to meditate by those deeply devoted to the mystical, spiritual path. Aside from being both the sign of the subconscious mind and the reservoir sign where all the other 11 signs also are present in their deepest reaches, Pisces is also the sign of the disembodied soul, of the life between lives. This is why it is truly the sign of mysticism. Neptune is the modern ruler of Pisces and it so happens that it is currently in Pisces and has been since 2011 and will be until March 30, 2025, when it enters Aries.

A sequence of conjunctions beginning with Mercury in Capricorn conjunct Pluto on February 10 is in the spotlight. A conjunction of two planets occurs when, from our geo-centric perspective, both planets share the same longitude. Most significantly, these events indicate the beginnings of new cycles which continue until the next conjunction of both planets. The Mercury/Pluto conjunction is the first and occurs on February 10. On the surface, it implies authoritarianism, yet in its inner reaches, critical thinking and journalism are featured. On February 15, Venus conjuncts Neptune in Pisces producing a deep and mysterious theme like dark waters concealing predators, yet also prey and it too holds desires for truth in its secret layers. On the 16^th, the Sun conjuncts Saturn in Aquarius highlighting confrontations between cold ambition and justice-seeking rebels determined to awaken others from their naivety. The standout theme this week is the Full Moon in Leo. It is the culmination of the New Moon in Aquarius that occurred on January 21 at the 1^st degree of Aquarius, constituting the seed event. The chart as a whole reveals a rebellious determination in the face of persistent authoritarianism. Although this is already increasingly evident, this pushback will become even more elaborated this week under the fully illumined moon in dramatic Leo. Yet, it will itself prove to be just the beginning of a mounting period of determination to oppose the assumptive encroachment of corrupted organizations symbolized by Pluto in Capricorn and at the highest degree.
