As month one of 2022 yields to month two, we can expect global tensions to rise to higher levels yet. January was very full indeed and it manifested as a new phase of confrontation between the governments of the world and the citizens of their respective populations. This push back to government overreach is not supported by everyone, but many have been made more aware of the reasons behind it. Astrologically, both Venus and Mercury have been retrograde from weeks but both will turn direct before this week is out. The result of this will manifest as a more obvious punch, counterpunch standoff. It does remain that this may not be made known by the mainstream media outlets. The Sun will form a conjunction with Saturn by week’s end as well adding fuel to the raging revolution. All of this can be understood as features of the so-called Great Reset and as a synchronicity of the rapidly emerging official start of the Age of Aquarius.

Aries (Mar 21 – Apr 19)

A mix of ambitious impulse and revolutionary fervor is rocking your world now. On one hand, you seek returns for past efforts. This is probably the stronger focus. On the other hand, you want to lend support to movements that counter oppression. Somewhere in the middle, you may be wondering how you can stimulate new streams of income.

Taurus (Apr 20 – May 20)

One way or another, you are determined to be seen and heard.  Desires for power and influence are featured. You will push and plow as necessary and will not be too concerned regarding any broken china. The Lunar Node in your sign since January 18 has likely already activated and noticeable increase in your resolve.

Gemini (May 21 – Jun 21)

An awakening wants to occur. However, it may be occurring subconsciously and you may therefore not be aware of it. You might have to make a more concerted effort. This focus will only last a few weeks so it is up to you. It includes not just seeing a bigger picture but also laying claim to a new sense of identity and/or self-concept. Cancer (Jun 22 – Jul 22)

A process of deep change and transformation continues. The deeper aspects of this began a couple of years ago, specifically. Yet, now it is receiving a new impulse that will invariably manifest as a strong, clear, perhaps even visceral shift that includes a change of values and priorities. Finding new meaning in important relationships is a central focus.

Leo (Jul 23 – Aug 23)

Changes on relationship fronts continue to roll-in.  Positively, these are contributing to making commitments to new levels of professional success, or to your social status and reputation in general.  This will steadily emerge as a priority. Venus turning direct will make this more evident but it may take until mid-March to really take effect.

Virgo (Aug 24 – Sep 22)

A steady stream of change affecting your daily rhythms and lifestyle in general continues. Hopefully, this process is having the effect of raising your awareness and overall vibration. In this time of trial and tribulation affecting the entire world, it is extra challenging to feel chipper and cheerful. So, to feel less weight, focus on living more simply. 

Libra (Sep 23 – Oct 22)

The added influence of Pisces due to Jupiter’s presence there is destined to increase your focus on health, generally.   More specifically, it emphasizes spiritual themes. Questions about the meaning of life and perhaps of the soul may be on your mind. Alternately, you may be wondering what is real and what is illusion; a mystic calling.

Scorpio (Oct 23 – Nov 21)

We live in complex and confusing times and you may be feeling the full weight of it. It can be difficult to know whether the complexities are coming from within, without or both. Wow, this week begins with a lot of new shifts. The Sun entered Aquarius, Uranus turned Direct, and the Lunar Nodes changed signs, and the Moon waxed to Full… This is the main story, but is invariably the short list. There are a lot of layers when it comes to Astrology. Some are more subtle and encompass larger cycles, while others are in the forefront, just like an epic movie. Speaking of which, that is what 2022 will be all about, an epic process. This makes it a great time to be aware and in-tune with your own, personal destiny. Measuring both the deeper themes and the more immediate cycles at play is what Astrology is very much about. Our futures are probable due to the finer details of our destiny, yet we also have free will and then there is the factor of circumstantial reality. Yet, nothing is random and every layer is the expression of a larger, deeper layer of destiny. Awareness of this fact is a cornerstone of being awake.

Aries (Mar 21 – Apr 19)

The current shifts are producing a rich mix of impulses for us all. For you, this includes looking to the future and securing your foundation more specifically than you have perhaps for some time. Mercury turns retrograde today, January 14, at 6:41 am EST (3:41 am PST). It joins Venus and Uranus. A retrograde planet is a common occurrence in Astrology. It does produce both psychological and eventful effects, yet these can be subtle to measure. Still it remains that they generally lead us to review, reflect, revise, reconsider… according to the planet in question and the sign it is in. Mercury Rx in Aquarius is one of its better positions. However, this is generally true but not always specifically. Positively, it tends to have a mind-opening effect. Because Uranus is ruled by Aquarius, it is influenced as well and because Uranus is in the sign ruled by Venus which is also retrograde, in Capricorn, all 3 of the retrograde planets are more intimately involved. Yet, Mercury is also in direct square to Uranus and this aspect indicates the energies of each are at cross purposes and the resolution tends to be a hard-won, character building process. The outer manifestation will likely prove confrontational between the mainstream narrative and that of alternative perspectives.

What is significant about Mercury Retrograde this year is that it actually occurs 4 times, or at least the start of 4! Usually, we experience 3 Mercury Retrograde cycles, consisting of approximately 3-weeks. The 3-week duration remains but there are 4 starts and the same can be said about 2023 which begins while Mercury is Rx. Here are the dates for 2022: January 14 – February 3, May 10 – June 3, September 10 – October 2 and December 29 – January 19, 2023.

Aries (Mar 21 – Apr 19)

As eager as you are to take an ambitious, early lead, you also may feel happy to take time out. Such inner conflict is not uncommon, but it tends to cause frustration. However, you are determined to cash-in on prior efforts made and may feel that this is not the time to retreat, even if you feel like doing so. Focus on the prize to lift your spirits.

Happy New Year 2022! Even despite these very complex and turbulent times, the very number ignites hope and optimism. Of course, the number will not translate so simply for many people, if any. A Universal 6-Year is symbolic of increased levels of responsibility when, due to a process of prioritization and time management, certain relationships will deepen lending to others taking a break or ending altogether.  Astrologically, there are a lot of factors at play which will provide all the excitement, color, verve and drama of a major motion picture.  Jupiter will spend time in both Pisces and Aries and when in Pisces will conjunct Neptune igniting a global spiritual rebirth. The Moon’s Nodes leave Gemini/Sagittarius and enter Taurus/Scorpio on January 18 which will slowly lead us from the pyre fire to greener pastures over its 18-month cycle. Mars will enter Gemini in late August and, due to turning retrograde, will be there until late March 2023. Altogether 2022 will, in its most positive respect, lead us back to acknowledge the spiritual source of life.

Aries (Mar 21 – Apr 19)

You will be drawn inward as 2022 begins. Gathering information from outer sources will shift to include more inner access. Your focus will turn to fortifying foundations. The festive season is accompanied by two very significant events this year. This first is serious Saturn in Aquarius forming its final square to original and unorthodox Uranus in Taurus. The conjunction of these two gas giants occurred in 1988 and this marks the beginning of its final quarter which extends to 2032…. Since Uranus and Saturn share rulership of Aquarius, this already dynamic aspect is that much more powerful. The thing is that square aspects reveal energies at cross purposes. The outer synchronicity is a flailing economy on a global scale.  Whatever the exact causes, there it is. Some assert that it will ultimately lead to worldwide economic reform manifesting as the end of Fiat currency (money as we know it) and the takeover of digital currency, as with Cryptocurrency, perhaps. The other major event is Jupiter entering Pisces on December 28 but more on that next week. What stands out is the fact that Jupiter and Saturn are the social planets symbolic of norms, customs and traditions and Uranus is the trans-social revolutionary.
