KERPA Gets a Boost from the Nelson Italian-Canadian Society
The Nelson Italian-Canadian Society is delighted to announce that they recently made a
$1000 donation to help KERPA (Kootenay Emergency Response Physicians Association)
purchase much needed equipment for their mobile unit.
KERPA’s goal is to help the most critically ill and injured patients in the Kootenay Region.
They send a volunteer Emergency Response Physician to any immediate threat to life
911 calls. This program helps save lives and provides additional support to the
Emergency Services.
Each year the NICS volunteers work hard raising funds by making and selling Italian
sausages, Pizzelle cookies, and spaghetti sauce and through the sale of wine grapes and
juice. These products are available at different times through the year and always sell
out. Additional funds are raised through the NICS’ annual Spring Banquet and grilled
Italian sausage sales at the Road Kings Car Show.
The NICS and its volunteers are proud to raise money that goes towards supporting a
range of local charities and initiatives. They plan to continue their fundraising efforts in
the year ahead and extend their heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported these
events.
