The waning Moon in its Last Quarter phase includes the complexity of completing the focus on certain projects and redirecting time and energy to a new creative round indicated by the New Moon in Gemini on June 14.
Each Sign experiences the activation of the New Moon from different angles of priority, despite the same core themes indicated. Like a celestial brick in the wall, the cyclic round implied refers to the very building process of civilization.
Included in the building process, however, is the task of removing the old to make way for the new. While this occurs on a regular basis, associated with the psychology of the Moon’s cycle, (even though most people do not recognize it), there are ever larger factors at play.
Even the role of the Sun’s position, which is indicative of the ‘signs’ of the seasons, plays an obvious role. In this regard, each month hosts its own general set of characteristics and probable areas of focus which silently guide the focus and priorities of us all.
So, Gemini time tends to be busy at the garden centers but is also popular for weddings and other social gatherings, supported by the literal weather, but also the social stimulation that airy, communicative, interesting Gemini tends to inspire.
Then, the cycles and influences of Mercury, Venus, and Mars, or the ‘personal planets’, activate subtle yet real activations of the general scope of thoughts, attitudes, and actions, which are certainly rhythmic on an annual basis, in accordance with the seasonal round, yet which bring diverse influences to the fore, amidst the otherwise ‘business as usual’ trends.
Currently, Mercury and Venus are in Cancer, along with Jupiter, bringing emphasis to home and family, but also the psychology of our personal welfare, as well as that of significant others.
With Mercury turning retrograde in Cancer on June 29, which is its most difficult sign when retrograde, we will be dealing with its complex influences through June, July, and August even.
In the bigger picture, with all the far planets in ‘male’ signs (all Fire and Air signs), except Jupiter currently, but which enters male Leo on June 29 – the same day Mercury turns retrograde, on the heels of Mars in Gemini and all under a Capricorn Full Moon, the assertive expression of the planets in male signs will escalate measurably.
Positively, it could prove extra exciting. Yet, the drama factor is likely to increase as well.
So, the last official couple of weeks of spring, which includes a New Moon in Gemini on June 14, can be understood as the momentum-building period.
Summer Solstice on June 21 will add to this accelerated pace, since, although a female sign, Cancer is a Cardinal Sign, which is symbolic of proactive assertiveness. Use this time to complete current projects and prepare in any and every way that makes sense, because summer 2026 is about to begin, and it is destined to be a hot one, literally and figuratively!
