Insights, Inspirations & Forecast:

A historic alignment of planets is stirring a lot of excitement this weekend.

In the context of the waxing Moon, which culminates to Full on Sunday evening (or early Monday morning in Eastern Canada and the rest of the world east of it), the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars and Pluto, Uranus and Neptune too are all playing lead roles.

A brief summary is as follows:

The Sun enters water element Scorpio on October 23 at 5:38 am EDT with the Moon at that very moment in watery Pisces and void-of-course, which can be basically understood as adding even more dreamy and imaginative influences to the mix. Scorpio and Pisces are the deep signs of the Zodiac, the former symbolic of the deep underground waters of the world, and liquids in general, such as oil, and Pisces is symbolic of the oceans. The water element is generally symbolic of psychological factors and the depths of the subconscious mind.

So, ‘Scorpio time’ begins on an extra deep note this year.

The Moon in Pisces is ‘disposited’ (energetic transfer) by Neptune, its ruling planet, which is in Mars-ruled Aries, which is currently in fiery, dramatic Leo, adding spicy passion to the scene, or like a caldera of volcanic intensity raging with fury if hidden and unseen, yet still synchronizing with outer expressions which observant people will recognize to be extra hot currently.

By 3:53 pm EDT on October 23, the Moon enters Aries as well, further activating this heat as with explosive irruptions, and where it will remain until 7:35 pm EDT on Sunday when it enters Taurus just prior to its official Full Moon status. It should be noted that it is the build-up to the Full Moon which is the most intense prior to the climactic moment.

In this context and still on October 23, the Moon first forms a conjunction to Neptune in Aries at 7:54 pm EDT, adding even more fury to the spurious sparks and roars due to raging pressures in the deep, inner regions of the world. By 9:21 pm, the Aries Moon forms a sextile to Pluto, as if it has been waiting for its moment to jump in and add its notorious intensity to the entire dynamic.

Then, by 10:44 pm EDT, the Sun, still at 0 Scorpio, comes into the close embrace of Venus in exact conjunction at the alpha fractal of 0 degrees Scorpio, where the potency of the power is at its most pure and yet raw, instinctual and reactive! At this very moment of conjunction, Venus completes its 5th of 5, producing an event of epic, mythic and archetypal proportions that will be further elaborated below.

Adding to the complex and exciting plot, the Moon in Aries forms another sextile to Uranus in Mercury-ruled Gemini, with Mercury Stationary, or apparently at a standstill where its weight is heaviest, just prior to it turning retrograde for its 3rd of 3 retrograde cycles of the year, which officially begins at 3:13 am EDT on October 24, while at 20 Scorpio 58, itself a highly emotionally charged position.

While retrograde in Scorpio, Mercury will synchronize with an amplification of creative, critical thinking guided by a healthy, skeptical, research-oriented impulse to uncover secrets and identify deceptions. Mercury will remain retrograde in Scorpio until November 13, when it turns direct again, and just hours prior to Venus now in Libra also turning direct. What an exciting script written by source, astronomical eons ago! By 5:10 am EDT on Sunday, October 25, Venus enters Libra to begin her role as a morning star, while graced by her honorable position in the sign she rules, like a bright light of hope emerging on the very surface of the water in the distance like a luminescent angel. At that very moment, the Moon enters its void-of-course window, amplifying intuitive realizations of divine purpose ever at play.

By 7:35 pm EDT on the evening of Sunday, October 25, the Moon enters Taurus culminating to Full at literally 12:12 am EDT on October 26. By 12:45 am EDT, still in the witching hour or that mystical ‘zero-hour-gap’ between midnight and 1 am, it forms an energetic and potent waxing square to Pluto in Aquarius, followed just hours later at 8:12 am EDT the Sun this time forms a waning square to Pluto. Then, all day long, the Moon, still in heavy weight Taurus, advances to also form a hard square with Mars in Leo at 10:18 pm EDT on October 26.

There is much that can be said about this weekend’s historic and potent alignments.

‘Pat’ interpretations can never quite encompass the full spectrum of any celestial event mapped onto a chart to measure its archetypal significance and spiritual purpose, let alone a close series of alignments as complex and eventful as these we are destined to experience over the next few days.

So, if you read about others, don’t reject any, but neither accept them as the final word, but to perhaps make the effort to observe the synchronicities at play in the world, and in your world especially. Yet, a basic interpretation includes a process of death and rebirth of one kind or another in the realm of close, intimate, especially romantic relationships associated with Venus in Scorpio and Libra and the Taurus factor too, associated with deeper needs and associated priorities destined to undergo a process of deepening, completion and rebirth, or all of these in any possible order.

Yet, what can be said in the more general archetypal sense associated with a deeper dive into the symbolic significance of Venus does merit further elaboration. What is most interesting is that this fifth and final inferior conjunction to complete the cycle reveals the 5th point in a tidy arrangement of 5 points shaped like a star, and which has also long been referred to as the Venus Rose.

Venus Retrograde in Scorpio is in the spotlight since at 0 degrees Scorpio, just prior to re-entering ‘her’ ruling sign of Libra, she completes an 8-year cycle of what is referred to as 5 inferior conjunctions. Or when Venus forms a conjunction with the Sun from our geocentric perspective, moving from many months as an evening star to begin her cycle over many months as a morning star.

This too requires further historical background and elaboration. So briefly, the observations of the movements of all the planets captured the awe and imagination of ancient astronomers the world over. Beyond the dance of the Sun and Moon and their eclipse cycles, which is itself a highly sophisticated science that literally dates back to about 4000 BC, especially in Ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia, the focus was strongest on the movements Mercury and Venus and Mars too.

Yet Venus achieved special notoriety due to its awe-inspiring rose-petal configuration produced over a period of 8 years and 5 retrograde cycles.

Of course, this phenomenon has been active for literally billions of years and will continue forevermore. Naturally, this majestic realization captured the imagination of the ancients, giving rise to mythological stories as an endeavor to interpret and bring meaning to it all. So, the following is an endeavor to briefly unpack it.

What this essentially means in terms of an actual phenomenal, astronomical event is that after many months as an evening star, Venus begins rising in the early morning before the Sun, and progressively earlier over many months. Interestingly, as the morning star, Venus was historically referred to as Lucifer, the light-bearer, and subsequently as Satan by Christendom. Yet, for many centuries prior and in accordance with Greek Mythology, Venus was referred to as the light-bearer Prometheus.

Prometheus is therefore associated with Lucifer, but each hosts different reputations, the former as a hero and the latter as a villain. Both figures represent the concept of a “light-bringer.” Initially, they were both seen as cultural heroes who brought enlightenment and knowledge to humanity, with Prometheus stealing fire from the gods and Lucifer symbolizing intellectualism and enlightenment.

So, the inner meaning of these parallel mythologies merits closer attention. Both figures reflect the duality in their nature, representing both positive and negative aspects of enlightenment and rebellion. While both are symbolic of bringers of enlightenment and liberation, both Prometheus and Lucifer are also seen as symbols of rebellion against authority, bringing forbidden knowledge to humanity. This can be understood as the rise of religious authority, complete with fear-based notions associated with rebellion in a fallen empire (Rome) seeking to rise again, yet this time wearing a different cloak and crown than the wreaths and robes of previous emperors.

As the stories go, both Prometheus and Lucifer suffer severe consequences for their actions of bringing knowledge, illumination, and cries of liberation to the masses, embodying the dual nature of enlightenment and punishment.

In Greek myth, Prometheus is remembered as the Titan who defied Zeus by stealing fire to help humanity, suffering eternal punishment as an eagle ate his regenerating liver, while in later Christian tradition Lucifer is depicted as a fallen angel who rebelled against God and became Satan.

Some modern interpretations dramatically link both figures to the archetype of defiance against divine authority, framing their stories as explorations of human desire for autonomy and transcendence. Viewing Prometheus and Lucifer as cultural heroes emphasizes themes of defiance, enlightenment, and liberation, framing their theft of divine fire or forbidden knowledge as acts of empowerment for humanity. Prometheus is celebrated as a champion of human progress and reason, while modern reinterpretations of Lucifer often recast him as a symbol of intellectual rebellion and self-determination.

Given the current status of the human condition, it would seem that in Shakespearean repetition of archetypal themes, we have once again arrived at a point when corruption and tyranny are at a peak and rebellion is naturally rising. The major difference this time is that now the entire dynamic is occurring at a collective, global scale, constituting what might be understood as an initiation for humanity as a whole, and so at a worldwide scale.

While it is natural for people to want to identify who the villains and heroes are, as ever, there is no consensus. Yet, as ever, people righteously assume that they ‘see reality as it is’. Notions of the conditioned influences of bias and prejudice are completely rejected if even considered at all, justifying both perceptions and actions, yet altogether culminating in polarizations once again.

Despite the epic scale of these archetypal influences measured as celestial events and plotted on Mandala maps (astrological charts) playing their destined roles at this major turning point, we can and are wise to reflect upon our own lives and the implications of these events now. Among other things, they will reveal destined turns guided by karmic realities and revealed as soul contracts.

With regard to social realities, the question worth asking is: am I polarized in my perspectives? If so, is this contributing to the peace and justice we all yearn for, or is my position contributing to division, anger, hate, conflict, and strife? Convictions are natural, yet polarizations guided by righteous, justified positions will produce karmic debts. Aim for peace, equilibrium, and understanding for best results.

While we do have free will to participate, we are wise to observe, accept, surrender and cooperate in accordance with our inner, heartfelt knowing. Yet, in terms of greater clarity and a deeper understanding, Astrology is a time-honored art and science that can be used to see the details of your soul contract right down to the fine print of the most illustrious law firm. I can help you in this regard.
