NPD File 2019-4972 Search Warrant.
On October 25, 2019 Nelson Police Department executed a search warrant at a home in the Gyro Park area of Nelson. NPD obtained an arrest and entry warrant for premises after a lengthy investigation into reports of drug activity at the home. A male and female, who are known to police, were arrested inside the home and a quantity of suspected cocaine and ketamine were located upon search. NPD are forwarding charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking against the male arrested in the home.
NPD File 2019-4907 and 2019-4955 Assault with a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon, Arrest Warrants.
On October 16, 2019 Nelson Police Department responded to a report of an assault with a weapon at a residence in the Rosemont area. Upon arrival on scene members identified a male victim who had been stuck in the head with what he believed to be a sock filled with rocks or a similar heavy object(s). The victim informed police that the male suspect also tried to stab him prior to fleeing the residence. After investigation, the male was identified as Eldon Lemaigre (40 years). Lemaigre is not well known to NPD but has an extensive history of violent behavior in several provinces including BC and Saskatchewan.
On October 18th NPD received information that allowed police to locate Lemaigre at Our Daily Bread. Due to Lemaigre’s concerning violent history all NPD members on shift responded with the assistance of Nelson RCMP. After the building was safely contained by police, Lemaigre was located inside and arrested without incident. Lemaigre was charged with Assault with a weapon, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Breach of his release conditions. Lemaigre was also found to have several warrants from the Lower Mainland. Lemaigre was transported to Okanagan Correction Centre where he remains in custody.
