SUBJECT: NPD File 2023-977 – March 6, 2023
On Saturday March 4, 2023 Nelson Police Department officers along with BC Highway Patrol
responded to a two-vehicle collision on Vernon Street at Baker Street in Nelson. The
investigation revealed that both vehicles were travelling west along Vernon Street. The first
vehicle a white 2010 Subaru Forrester, came to a stop at the intersection but the grey 2017 Kia
Sorrento following it failed to stop and collided with the rear of the Subaru. Both vehicles moved
from the intersection west onto Baker Street toward Railway Street where the parties exited their
vehicles.
Nelson Police are seeking any witnesses to the collision and would like to speak with a
pedestrian that was passing by and stopped to talk to one of the drivers.
