Happy Imbolc…, or Groundhog Day!
One might wonder if Ground Hog Day equates to anything Astrological. Well, it so happens it does. This officially marks the mid-point between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox. Featured in the Lunar Cycle, which is based on a division of the circle by 8, equating to 45-degree segments. Calling this turning point Groundhog Day can be understood as the popular, dumbed-down focus that diminishes awareness of its significance regarding the annual solar cycle.
Traditionally, this time is called “Imbolc” and is phase 2 of 8 and is an expansion phase. Regarding the study of cycles, such times in any cycle can be measured as outer synchronicities, but doing so requires awareness and observation.
That Imbolc coincides with the Moon in Scorpio and at its Last Quarter turn along with the Moon making aspects to Saturn, Venus, Jupiter and Chiron and Mercury (the Moon of the Sun), forming a sextile to Neptune… reveals some of the ingredients specific to this day this year.

Aries (Mar 21 – Apr 19)
Despite some degree of interest in social affairs, your focus remains sober and practical. Determined to get a jump on things as 2024 builds momentum, notions of travel and other such frivolities probably hold little appeal at this time. Place tying loose threads of yesteryear at the top of your list. By addressing any unfinished business, or even home projects, you will get ahead.
Taurus (Apr 20 – May 20)
Can you be philosophical and practical at the same time? Well, if it can be done you will be the one to prove it so. A deep dive on how to break through any restrictions for the sake of increase and advancement will bring rewards. Like your Aries friends, you might also be busy cleaning up the results of reckless indulgence from the past. Otherwise, you could just be raking in profits.
Gemini (May 21 – Jun 21)
The weight of Capricorn is heavy on you now. The key is to decipher how to lighten the load. Keeping it simple is ever a good choice. Clearing the clutter is one way to achieve this goal. This is a time to ‘travel light and travel free, or at least to prepare to do so. It is true that the process might amount to work, but the reward of purging the past will prove palpably liberating.
Cancer (Jun 22 – Jul 22)
A busy time on relationship fronts continues and it is hardly a time of fun and frolic. Attending to some of the more sobering realities of life is likely now. Of course, the more you accept the challenge with gracious surrender, the more likely will you prevail to be victorious. The other fine print indicates that this process will continue well into March, so pace yourself.
Leo (Jul 23 – Aug 23)
Some cycles are busier than others and this is sure one of them. Positively, you are feeling inspired by your productivity. The emphasis is strongly associated with your public and professional life, and you do like attention. So, do the work required now and persevere faithfully. Positively, you could even achieve new heights and fame and acclaim, provided you are willing to earn it.
Virgo (Aug 24 – Sep 22)
A creative impulse is guiding your actions. Rest assured that you are not alone in this busy time. Positively, you are enjoying the inspiration, despite the perspiration required. The key now is to just keep showing up and following through. However, to make the B grade an A, the secret sauce is to be original. How can you do what you do both better and differently?
Libra (Sep 23 – Oct 22)
Well, at least some of the fun has begun. Hopefully, it is not manifesting as unnecessary drama. If so, focus on keeping it mellow. You are still dealing with some pretty deep-end themes and perhaps the challenges that come with them. If you are healthily centered and surrendered, carry on. However, any imbalances or resistances will be amplified now. Observe, reflect, and take notes.
Scorpio (Oct 23 – Nov 21)
Changes on relationship fronts are now and will keep on rolling in for the next few weeks. This is your cue to keep an open mind and get clear regarding your options. While patience does remain a keyword and will for some time yet, it involves productive perseverance. Success requires that you ‘pay your dues’ where and as necessary. Your job is to decipher what they are.
Sagittarius (Nov 22 – Dec 21)
Many new thoughts and realizations are shaking in your mind and will likely manifest externally as well. The time is right to think practically and constructively. The time has come to build upon new foundations. Yet, the key to proceeding with confidence is to identify your fears and then to confront them. Among the biggest fears are change and endings.
Capricorn (Dec 22 – Jan 19)
What do you value most, want, and need? These and other such questions are important questions to ask at this time. Asking the right questions and then entering a state of mind to receive answers is your task. The answers can come from outer signs of synchronicity, from realizations gained in meditative states, messages received in dreams, and so on…
Aquarius (Jan 20 – Feb 19)
Mercury entering your sign this week will awaken you to a new round of contemplation and communication. Your conversations are likely to include thoughts about the future and prospective moves, whether figurative or literal. Once the discussion begins, you will become more focused and assertive regarding what you feel you want in terms of new experiences.
Pisces (Feb 20 – Mar 20)
Aquarius time is one during which your unique imagination tends to get ignited. Using this time to be inventive and innovative is especially emphasized this year. As well, this trend will continue into March as Mercury, Venus, and Mars enter Aquarius over the coming weeks and are supported by the coming New Moon. Tune in and use this streak of genius to your best advantage.
