The February 9th New Moon is a special one indeed.
First, it is the event that launches the Chinese Year of the growth-oriented and progressive Wood Dragon.
The fact that the Moon is at its ‘perigee’ or closest approach in its elliptical orbit is in keeping with the themes of the dragon and tends to be extra powerful and epic. When the mythic dragon comes on the scene, audacious, and fate-tempting events with magnitudes beyond the usual can be expected over the course of the entire year, and in ways that will have far-reaching implications for us all. So, get ready and, for best results, summon the courage to ride the dragon!
With the two ruling planets of Scorpio so strongly configured in the New Moon chart, which includes Pluto at critical 0 Aquarius at the anchor point and Mars exalted in Capricorn at the highest degree point, there is considerably more charge yet – in fact a motherload, as the saying goes. The Sun/Moon union are also forming a tight square to Uranus, (the ruling planet for Aquarius), in Taurus.
This is further clear evidence that the destined impact will be considerable and could seem to prove quite unexpected, with earth-shaking magnitude.
Social and politically, people will not be bullied or idly pushed aside, especially by perceived injustices and unscrupulous agendas. A clear and strong line is being drawn on the ground today and any current conflicts will prove explosive, as with the farming revolution in Europe for example.
The magnitude of this event is so significant in fact, that it will prove to be the next major chapter in the dawning process of the Aquarian Age that has still yet to achieve its actual sunrise moment, yet which considering its 2,160-year duration, is coming in very quickly now indeed and all the signs of it are all around us.
Of course, few people really understand what it means, but you can be one of the few who do….

Aries (Mar 21 – Apr 19)
The Aquarius New Moon seed occurs in your sector of friends and future dreams. With Uranus, the ruler of Aquarius, in Taurus along with Jupiter, it is likely that your interests are quite practical. Dreams and visions of abundance are dancing in your mind. This is amplified with Venus in ambitious Capricorn. Due to Saturn in Pisces however, these may be at cross purposes, especially with major investments made since March 2023.
Taurus (Apr 20 – May 20)
Your career, public life, and social status or reputation are being activated by this New Moon. You may feel the desire to be seen, heard, acknowledged, and respected. Any dues you feel you have earned that are not forthcoming will trigger appeals, at least, if not rebellion or even revolutionary action. You are likely seeking an increase and advancement of your cause.
Gemini (May 21 – Jun 21)
The weight of Capricorn has likely been burdensome these past weeks, or at least challenging. Fortunately, this Aquarius Moon cycle will help alleviate your mood. However, it will not be able to do so entirely, at least not yet. Ironically, your lead these days may require surrender to circumstances beyond your control. Focus to yield and adapt with wisdom and grace.
Cancer (Jun 22 – Jul 22)
Important changes are brewing in your world, and they will not be idly dismissed or go unnoticed. Ideally, you feel inspired by visions of possibility. Otherwise, you are probably wise to exercise a philosophical attitude and embrace the reality and gravity of what is implied. Like your Gemini friends, circumstances may be challenging you to exercise grace under pressure.
Leo (Jul 23 – Aug 23)
Changes on relationship fronts are destined to unfold over the coming weeks. These may prove to be deep and impactful both within and without. These are likely to be quite evident and strongly felt close to home. Positively, they will provide a boost to your confidence levels. Either way, you should be ready to do the work required and even give more than usual.
Virgo (Aug 24 – Sep 22)
Changes in your lifestyle which will have an impact on your home and family can be expected to occur starting as early as this weekend. Positively, these could prove to be reasons for celebration, even though you will likely be pushed to make specific adjustments and improvements. The key to your success now is your resolve to commit and rise to the occasion.
Libra (Sep 23 – Oct 22)
This Aquarius New Moon will likely have mixed results for you. You have been contending with some challenging influences for some time now, but which have perhaps amplified over the past year. Positively, it will activate earned rewards and returns for previous efforts. Yet, it remains important that you exercise prudence and due diligence regarding your health especially.
Scorpio (Oct 23 – Nov 21)
The seeds of change being sowed now stand to impact you at core levels. These will likely be occurring in your home and family and relationships. Fortunately, expansion is implied, and your energy levels are probably running pretty high as well to support your efforts. Patience does remain an important factor and more than usual you are being called to be committed.
Sagittarius (Nov 22 – Dec 21)
A whole new series of waves of change in your overall scope of perception of reality is indicated by this New Moon. Some of these could even prove somewhat intimidating. It depends on how much your sense of security is anchored in your beliefs and interpretations of life. Changes in some of your core values and priorities are likely and these could affect the very way you live.
Capricorn (Dec 22 – Jan 19)
The time has come to take some deliberate strides to build for your future. Positively, you are feeling creative and inspired to take powerful new leads and initiatives. Changes in your lifestyle are also implied, as is true for many, and you are specifically meant to both keep an open mind, yet also pay closer attention to the details. Embrace the changes with determination.
Aquarius (Jan 20 – Feb 19)
The New Moon in your sign indicates an impulse to take pioneering initiatives. Yet while outward directions are likely, so too is inner work implied. So, you have something of an inside and outside job ahead of you for the coming weeks anyway. Regarding the inner, the key is to identify and confront any fears you may be harboring. Pisces (Feb 20 – Mar 20)
Aquarius cycles tend to have an illuminating effect on you. This is likely especially true this year. Some of the realizations implied include deciphering literally and figuratively what ‘minding your own business’, implies. Positively, by getting clear on what is your actual business, you will be more focused on following through to achieve success by overcoming distractions irrelevant to your purpose.
