Last week’s historic Solar Eclipse comes to its First Quarter, illumined as a half moon. This is when the dynamic really begins to accelerate and, in a proactive sense, it implies the need for clear, decisive action. Destiny is invariably a co-creative process and we each engage our free will if simply to react or respond to the flow of circumstances. It is healthy to remember this and to acknowledge the power and process of making realistic and responsible choices. The universe has a few little surprises in store for us all this year: a second New Moon in Aries on April 20 which is also a Solar Eclipse followed by Mercury turning retrograde on the 21^st. Both lunation cycles began with the critical degrees of 0, or the first degree, and 29 degrees, or the last one with both seeds of their respective cycles in Aries, the sign of pioneering initiatives. The influence is further strengthened in complex ways due to the fact that the eclipsed Sun is forming a tight 90-degree angle to Pluto at 0 Aquarius! Anyone with planets or angles in the last couple of degrees of Aries, Cancer Libra and Capricorn or the first couple of degrees of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius is likely to experience a stronger impact than most others. Get ready for some big power plays over the next several weeks specifically, and for the next six months generally.

The strong Aries impulse comes to its last quarter regarding its 1-month cycle. This is also true of the Moon since they both began in such close tandem and coincided with Spring Equinox. Mars entering Cardinal Cancer a few days later is synchronizing with ardent determination to get to the bottom of things on many fronts. Positively, it aligns well with spring cleaning. Yet, the entire dynamic of the larger backdrop of planetary influences has much larger and farther-reaching implications. The synchronicities of Saturn Pisces dissolving old institutions and the global economy along with Pluto in Aquarius pushing us through the gates of the Age of Aquarius is all quite disturbing for many. Some seem to be very pleased with it all, yet these seem to be the fewer, especially since so many are reeling from the aggressive turns over the past few years amounting to extensive social and economic casualties, injury, death, and social and cultural divisions in general.

Under the light of the Libra Full Moon, the first of spring, reflective of the light of the Sun which is currently in Aries, we might be inspired to… well…, reflect. Saturn is now in Pisces and the basic prediction includes the disintegration of traditional structures and institutions. Do you happen to see any evidence of this in the larger social scene? Meanwhile, Pluto is now in Aquarius, the sign of computers, the internet, and associated technologies such as the engineering of both the hardware and the software that exists in computers. This principle of Aquarius also extends to how these constitute what can be understood as artificial brains, as with computing information. Of course, brains are generally associated with intelligence, so the notion of an artificial brain also extends to include artificial intelligence… Interestingly, Venus enters Gemini this week, the sign symbolic of the two main hemispheres of the brain, as with right and left, and with perception, interpretation, and communications in general. There sure is a lot to talk about, so let’s begin with synchronicity.

Pluto entered Aquarius under the impulse of the waxing New Moon in Aries which was at the very alpha point of the entire Zodiac! This is very significant and can be recognized as a clear sign that ‘the world is meant to undergo a whole new beginning’. This is not to condone the unscrupulous ambitions of various, nefarious networks and organizations, yet it does support us to accept that the revolutions of evolution are meant to occur at this time. Since change is a universal law, we can easily accept that with regard to it, resistance is futile. The deeper question to ask on a personal level is: “what can I do to co-creatively contribute to the overall process in a meaningful way?” The first answer is already woven in asking such a question, which is to be aware and to trust that we each can and do make a difference. Spring 2023 has begun. The general theme for the season includes significant new beginnings and rebuilding. Yet, these will also come in the context of both the dissolving influences of Saturn in Pisces and the powerful, revolutionary, and transformational impulses of Uranus in Taurus of Pluto in Aquarius. These can be metaphorically compared to the laborious and painful process of giving birth. In this case, the baby is a ‘new world order’, whether we like it or not. Modern technology has made this direction quite inevitable. Regarding the baby, it includes both the beauty of it all, despite the pain, and the transformational reality, as with a mother giving birth for the first time and both parents undergoing transformations as new challenges and responsibilities, perceptions, self-concepts, and attitudes are a new reality. Since the baby refers to the planet as a whole, the parents can be understood to be the two main hemispheres of our planet: East and West. Whether or not the parents will manage to work cooperatively and whether the birth will divide them is the big question now.
